To celebrate the Coronation Premier Inn has created a dressing gown fit for a King.
The UK’s biggest hotel company today (April 26) unveils a limited-edition Royal-style dressing gown, created in honour King’s Coronation – perfect for tuning into the event in style.
The service will begin at 11am on Monday, May 06 – allowing plenty of time for a lie in and to enjoy a tasty breakfast on the bonus Bank Holiday before tuning in to the monumental event.
Premier Inn – which is dedicated to helping people rest easy – dreamed up the robes in celebration of the momentous occasion and the designs were inspired by its own famous purple branding – a colour which has long been synonymous with Royalty.
Created in partnership with social enterprise community interest company The Sewing Rooms the robes are made from a cosy soft velour fabric that has been adorned with a faux ‘ermine’ collar, trim and cuffs giving a luxurious feel. They are finished off with the signature brand logo and a commemorative label inside. Priced at £50, all proceeds from the limited-edition sale will go to Premier Inn’s long-standing charity partner Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Premier Inn is hoping hoping the dressing gowns will prove popular after new research shows Brits have an unsatiable appetite for all things Royal. A recent survey conducted by Premier Inn and One Poll suggested that one in five will be purchasing souvenirs and memorabilia to commemorate the Coronation, with mugs being the most popular purchase – fittingly for a nation of tea drinkers. And, with thousands of people heading to London to be a part of the occasion – including many staying in the chain’s locations around London – Premier Inn felt it was fitting to create something symbolic that linked the two – relaxation and royalty – thus the ‘Royal’ robe was created!
To create the dressing gowns Premier Inn enlisted the expertise of Lancashire-based social enterprise company The Sewing Rooms, which aims to improve people’s life-chances – a business with values in line with Premier Inn’s own Force For Good strategy. All the robes were created in the Sewing Room’s Skelmersdale-based offices.
