Silentnight announced as Premier Inn bed supplier
Significant brand investment by UK’s biggest hotel company
Comfort, sustainability and durability at the heart of upgraded new bed
The UK’s biggest hotel company Premier Inn is delighted to confirm it has appointed Silentnight as its official bed supplier as it invests in its most technologically-advanced bed yet to the benefit of guest experience.
The new partnership represents a significant financial investment for Premier Inn and will see tens of thousands of new and exclusive enhanced-specification beds roll out in hotels across the UK, Ireland Germany and the UAE from October.
Comfort, sustainability and durability are at the heart of the technologically-advanced upgraded new bed, which has been extensively refined, tested and validated through research undertaken from hundreds of overnight stays on trial beds over a two year tender process.
Unique features include an exclusive gel-infused ‘Geltex ‘comfort layer, providing guests with a luxurious, undisturbed night’s sleep. This layer is incredibly flexible, allowing for greater freedom of movement in the night and controlling body temperatures.
Cleverly, the bed features a zippable, removable topper which is easily removed and refreshed at the end of its life – a feature which allows the spring unit below to last for longer as it doesn’t have to be needlessly replaced so often. This directly supports Premier Inn’s Force for Good sustainability agenda.
In fact, composite bed parts are 92 per cent recyclable.
Global Brand Director Tamara Strauss said: “With a relentless focus on comfort our eye is always on delivering the best night’s sleep for our guests and our new enhanced specification mattresses represent a significant financial investment we are making into our new bed roll out across our 80,000 plus bed estate as beds reach their life and we open new properties.
“Designed using state-of-the-art technology and the Science of Sleep, our new improved beds have been rigorously tested and refined in response to evolving insight over the course of the past two years. In research our guests loved them, and we can’t wait to begin rolling them out in our 800+ hotels in the UK, Ireland, Germany and the UAE from October. We’d like to to say a massive thank you to all the teams in trial sites across the UK who have worked with alongside us – we couldn’t do it without you”.
